Mine Bay, 40 years on
It had been 40 years since Matahi etched this contemporary Maori masterpiece into the cliff face at Mine Bay. A celebration was in order, and it had to be done right! I had the privilege of working with the artist himself to create a digital version of his world-famous artwork, along with a brochure to hold all the stories and meaning he wished to convey. Such an incredible project to be a part of – pulling up to the carvings at dawn for a celebratory karakia is something I will never forget.
